This seems to be a "known" problem. I assume there are frames that are not affected but certainly there are too many that do have this problem. It sounds like the through axle hole in the derailleur hanger does not align with the threaded portion of the dropout. That is a serious oops in the manufacturing department. Is it safe to assume that Factor has fixed this issue and recent frames do not have this defect?MikeZ wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 12:14 amAre you guys having rear thru axel issues with your Ostro as this guy is in this youtube video? Based on responses to the video, others are reporting the same.

Anyone how how the facing on the frame has been for brake mounting? Heard this is a big issue with a lot of disc brake bikes (leading to the calibres not mounting properly and being misaligned with the rotors) and hoping this isn't an issue on the Ostro I have coming..

Below 6kg is quite possible, but I haven't achieved it yet.....
I would have to give up some aero qualities to get there though, so.......

Already have tubs. That's the only realistic way to get below 6.5kg.
Using DeCadence 48/58, I'm at 6.25kgs. That wheelset is about 1200g I think.
I could get a pair of Ultralight 38mm or so tubs, at about 950g, so that's already below 6kgs.
Then maybe a light cassette (I just have 25-11 DA) et voila!
Final build looks stellar!ericlambi wrote:Here's an unexciting photo of my finally repainted and rebuilt Ostro. No more pink and yellow! The original barstem was too long for me and I went through a bit of an odyssey trying to replace it with a 36cm bar[stem] that would have a more aero profile than the Black. In the end I have a 36cm Black handlebar and FSA stem. On the heavy side I've got vectors and the DA crank. On the light side I have the Darimo post and FarSports wheels. Weight is 7.15kg according to my luggage scale, size 52.
My mechanic advised that the post is too loose and he had to use copious amounts of carbon paste, over torque the clamp, and is still worried it won't hold, but one ride went by without issue.
I would probably still worry about the seatpost slipping over time. Maybe add some tape around clamping area for a tighter fit with carbon paste?
