New Scott foil.. at last!

Just an update for those of you struggling with sourcing a creston ic sl aero cockpit. I rolled the dice and ordered one of the $170 ebay knockoffs. It arrived last night and I am please to say it is absolutly fantastic. Fit and finish is indistinguisable from the eom version. The only differences I can see is 1. The stem tension bolts are 4mm hex head instead of T25 torx, and 2. The computer mount bolts are standard m5 bolts rather than m3 like the oem. Even my 3d printed garmin 1040 rocket mount fit flawless. I will update later today or this weekend with installed photos. One thing worth noting! If you order from ebay, their advertised width is in the drops, not at the hoods! My intent was to order a model that was 380mm at the hoods and ended up with one that is 365mm at the hoods and 380mm at the drops. It should be fine though, i'm gonna run it anyways. Also I have my oem cockpit for sale if anyone is interested. Its 120mm stem x 40cm at the hoods and 42cm in the drops. You can see it in the photos below side by side with the chinese sourced item. I will also include the syncros k-edge garmin mount in the long version that works with larger computers like the edge 1040. Shoot me a pm if interested. Will ship to anywhere in the US for a reasonable offer.

That's good to hear that the new versions are better quality! A friend of mine was riding Chinese Syncros Creston IC SL (for Addict RC), and while it worked fine, you could clearly see it was fake, as the low qualiry details gave it away too easily... I contemplated buying the fake IC SL X for my wife, as the reviews and pictures show much better quality as well... (I wanted to buy OEM, but zero chance of sourcing the one I needed for her...)

So is that labelled "420x120"?

No, the OEM is labeled 400x120 because Sycros measure from the hoods rather than the drops.

How do you feel about the counterfeit branding?

Doesn't bother me, it's identical to oem with the exception of not say "Creston IC SL Aero" on the rear of the bar like the oem does.

The Creston IC SL Aero cockpit is 20mm wider in the drops than in the hoods. I can vouch for this across three different examples I've seen in person on friends bikes and my own.

no. just buy it and swap out the parts. i did that with an rc 20 as that was the colorway i wanted.

I waited 15 months for my RC10 purple, today my dealer offered RC20 instead, having pretty much same spec only difference is 105 di2 instead of ultegra and about 1000euros cheapear, so decided to go RC20 route instead, as i have SL AERO handlebar 36cm and Ultegra cranksets already anyway, gonna pick up bike in few days

My Foil is off the road until March/April and was hoping to get bars sorted over the winter.
EXS not much better with stock so looks like Tavelo Avro may be the best bet. Like the look of them (similar to EXS) and appear to really suit the bike.

I'm in the UK and they are not on ebay here. I see there are a few similar versions on Ali but no idea what I'd be buying so rather not take the risk. Even very good 'fake' components don't appeal for something so critical as handlebars.

I'm continuing to commiserate over this bike. Appreciate I can't get the purple I want as a frameset only and I'm hesitant to purchase it fully built and then try to part out the groupset, wheelset, saddle etc...I've done this before and it just ends up being a big loss.

It also looks like getting this bike in the Toronto area in my size is a loooong way out. I connected with the local distrubtor and they said realisitcally I'm looking at having it on the road by ~Sept 2025 which doesn't work for me.

So I'm looking at frameset only options as it seems like a few frames can be purchased this way. I love the DSM colours but can't find the frameset, however the Q365 frameset is growing on me and wondering if anyone has experience with that one in person and thoughts on the paint scheme.

Either way I'm going to have to make this purchase out of country and eat some shipping and duties as Canada doesn't seem to be a big market for this model.

Also, having had both bars in my hands and using the ebay set now for a bit, I really dont think they are even knockoffs, I think they are coming out of the same factory, off the same line. They are 100% coming out of the same molds.
