Thanks for sharing. Keep us posted on progress. I'm also curious about the rear with seat stay clearance as well as cable routing. The GT calipers are slightly larger than the F1 so if the clearance is too tight, he can try the F1 which are quite a bit cheaper too. I have both and can't really tell if the GT are more powerful. Both stop reasonably well.
He's waiting for the wheels and rotors that suddenly went out of stock.

In the end the bike is supposed to be around (but less than) 5.5kg ready to ride, ie with pedals, bottle holders and gps mount.

Got my Pro Force Etap today. Did lighten it a bit so 6,3kg so far :D
761g for the frame in size 52, 281g for the fork cut as on the picture.
How did you lighten it up? I also have a pro build coming in soon.

Sram Red crank with 1x, now Garbaruk chainring. Force 10-28 cassette, 140 Shimano XTR rear and 160 in front, Berk saddlecombo, Extralite Ultrastar2 expander, now with Pirelli Velo 25mm tires and Tubolito tubes. Waiting for a Darimo stem and bar to get it under 6kg with a Deda Traforato bar tape.

How often do you ride without pedals?

Never, but that's how the shop who built it weighed it, so that's how I explained it in the post, a quick google will show you DA pedals are 230grams, does that help you?

Bikes get weighted ride ready here, so with pedals. The bike looks great!

Chill, he said it was without pedals.
"Ride ready" is a big term anyway: many hyper light pedals are light themselves, but require heavier and bulkier cleats. Also, you always need shoes to ride the bike... Difficult to say where to stop here.

It just helps that everyone measures with pedals, that way people know exactly what’s possible with a certain frame and compare it with others.

I'd actually argue, that without pedals makes more sense. Many people measure with Dura Ace pedals, that are "pretty heavy". I measure with SP Nanos... so all my builds are 100g lighter than an identical build with Dura Ace... don't know how much sense that makes.
I understand both perspectives and will not try to chance the way things are done atm.

But I also think power to weight ratio only makes sense in a context of power to system weight (rider, clothing, water, bottles, food, spares, helmet, shoes, bike, pedals, race number, bike computer etc.). Not how much power I can produce relative to my "naked weight". Ultimately, you need to carry all that stuff up the mountain, not just the bag of bones and skin...

Back to the Aethoses... sorry everyone.

Here is a recent image of mine, to make this pertinent:

Of course, the advantage of a post that states a mass without pedals is that the reader can then make comparisons easily.........especially so given that very few take into account the weight of cleats, which you can't do without either :-)

Lovely.
Any chance of a BB to saddle measurement (please!)?

They should be weighed with the rider. Then we'll see who the real weight weenie is. Clothes on preferred. :D
