My LBS says that BMC doesnt currently have any Frames with the ICS1 one-piece bar and stem in stock in the US, but i could get the frameset with the ICS2. Do you think it is worth waiting for the ICS1 or does it make that much of a difference? Maybe 200g?
This is for red one correct? I asked directly BMC if they were planning to launch a model in black, and they responded most probably next summer...DCbiker wrote:My LBS says that BMC doesnt currently have any Frames with the ICS1 one-piece bar and stem in stock in the US, but i could get the frameset with the ICS2. I feel most wheelsets on bikes sub 6k €, aren't that good. But then again, some brands/manufacturers these days want 8k € for an Ultegra specced bike with non-tubeless wheels..
I sold my slightly used CRD-351 wheelset for 400 € (without rotors and without cassette). That's a decent deal for me.

So I had a few questions to BMC regarding the bike weight and also regarding the wheelsets CRD-351 / CRD 351 SL. Here's the answer:
Bike weight
weight: front 795g / rear 919g (total 1714 g) Mine were 1610 grams though but maybe I've got to buy a new scale?!
CRD 351 SL
weight: front 699g / rear 849g (total 1548 g) Another ww poster's SL wheelset had a weight of 1620 g though!

WheelsetsBike and frame weights are based on painted pre-series frames at the time of publication. During serial production, deviations in the weight specifications may occur. we are now in the process of rechecking the weights of the series production and adjusting them continuously.
CRD 351The hubs and nipples are different and lighter on the SL version.
the 351SL version has alloy nipples and the 351 has brass nipples.

I picked up my slr01 four yesterday and it's not quite clear to me wether I can placers above the stem. I believe it's not possible, but then I did get a round spacer with the bike and some alternative insert (part 10) Did anyone find the ics2 assembly manual? It's not yet on the bmc website it seems.
-------
I already found the manual. It's in the same manual as for the bike itself. It's indeed possible to put a chimney on top with the alternative topcap and insert.
For those who are interested, my bike weighted 7.4 in size 51, so a bit over spec. It's probably possible to save some weight with the wheels (24f/28r). Also I read somewhere the bars would be less wide than advertised, but mine are slightly over 42. I'll probably swap them for 38 at some point.

Can anyone decipher this? https://www.bmc-switzerland.com/media/d ... mation.pdfviking76 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 4:55 pmWouldn’t they have the same spacer shape though?iamraymond wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 4:11 pmWhat really catches my attention is this:
All new ICS2, with significant weight savings, high stiffness, clean aesthetics and integrated device mounts for the most popular devices.
I'm hoping the ICS2 is backwards compatible with the existing bikes!
ICS2 yes , ICS carbon no...
It looks like there is an ICS Carbon retrofit for my 2019 slr01, for instance?
