My beasts are 60mm deep, disc, hooked and tubless and about 1420g.. will post weights when built but as hand made in Germany and on DT 180 hubs they are very impressive (20.8mm internal/28.5 external)FlatlandClimber wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 10:35 amSub 1550g for a over 60mm deep, wide, disc brake specific, tubeless compatible wheel, is very impressive.
As far as I recall, Roval CLX64, Hunt 60 Limitless, ZIPP 404 NSW, DTSwiss ARC 1100db 62 etc are all quite a bit heavier.

Is it really though? My ENVE SES 5.6 Discs with not-so-light White Industries CLD hubs are 1550g. 54mm/63mm, 28mm/28.75mm.

Rim only weighs 440g, Enve 5.6 weighs 449/477. That is 926g total vs 880g total

And a 138g saving with the DT Swis hubs.. so a 184g saving with rim and hubs together... so 1420g is pessimistic as a target

A 25mm tire on a 23mm id rim? Sounds sketchy.spartan wrote:if i remember ~30mm external width optimized for 25mm tires
they make some crazy claims about 35watts saving vs previous gen.

On this... Is there some kind of reference of the inner rim and tire measures? Like "at least 3mm more than the rim"?ToileySiphon wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 1:59 pmA 25mm tire on a 23mm id rim? Sounds sketchy.spartan wrote:if i remember ~30mm external width optimized for 25mm tires

Doubt it really matters at road pressures, it does increase volume for all tires though. Mounted width is going to increase as well.pmprego wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 4:34 pmOn this... Edit: Trek says they're for 25 and 28mm tires and their claims are based on aerodynamic drag AND rolling resistance.
I guess i was not clear in my question. For instance, I've seen some light bycicle wheels what are 25mm internal. What is the minimum tire recommended? I guess a 25mm tire is off the table. Thus, in this case for 23mm inner from trek what would be the minimum? Thanks.TheRich wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 7:28 pmDoubt it really matters at road pressures, it does increase volume for all tires though. Has anyone had any problems on the Praxis T47 BB? I started noticing some squeaking on Friday so I took the crankset off today to check what's going on. The drive side bearing sounded really rough and the non drive side is seized to the point where I can't spin it. The bike has 4000km (2500 miles), it's been ridden in wet once. I've regreased the BB around 1500ish kms in but besides that haven't done anything different I do with my other bike or previous bikes and I've had no BB issues in years. Bad luck or something with T47 to be wary of?
The XXX 4s are 1455 (presuming we're comparing disc clinchers). Getting the new 51s to 1410 is quite impressive, plus I imagine they'll have some claim about it being better in the crosswinds (or at least the same). Right now I love my XXX 4s as the perfect all-rounder, so topping them would be quite impressive.

I am expecting the 62sto be quite a bit wider than that... also, 54/63 and 62/62 is also a difference. Not saying it is the most impressive thing ever, but I expect them to be very competitive in terms of speed and weight.TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 11:31 amIs it really though? Bontrager usually have a really long reach, this does not look like a long reach at all. The drop also look super compact.
