Makes more sense now with mine, red/black in 60. I never weighed the frameset but still managed to build the full bike with Ultegra Di2 and Light Bicycle AR56 at close to 7.9kg. Not ideal but at the price point compared to higher tiers, not bad either.goatalope wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 7:07 pmFor the record, I weighed my 2021/22 Emonda SL5, size 56, 500 OCLV, Blue/Blue Smoke paint:
Frame (bare, no headset parts, no thru axle, etc.): 1218 grams
Fork (bare, no expander, no thru axle, uncut): 419
Not that impressive, but whatever. Lighter than my 2016 Giant Propel (rim brake), about 200g heavier than my 2013 Giant TCR advanced (rim). Makes the Emonda SLR attractive, but I'm too cheap to spend SLR money.

Yeah, I'm guessing it's the same frame they released in 2019. They just keep incrementing the model year with the same frame. For example, it still uses OCLV 700 carbon compared to the 800 carbon of the disc brake frames.TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 8:21 amTechnically that frameset is still for sale in 2021 as a "2022" model.

I'm guessing they made a lot of rim-brake blanks in 2017 and were utterly shocked by the lack of demand.

I could completely see that, although it took four months from order to delivery, so maybe they are making them in small batches...TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 5:33 amI'm guessing they made a lot of rim-brake blanks in 2017 and were utterly shocked by the lack of demand.choochoo46 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 5:14 am

Interested to know how you got on lightening your Emonda?Raymonndo wrote:Few snaps of my Emonda and how it sits as of now . Any tips to shed some grams welcome.
I’m looking at pulling the trigger on an SLR and would like to know whether anyone has made any light builds with aftermarket parts for the Emonda.

Build this for a friend, finished except for pedals. 6,7 kg as pictured. Weather didnt allow better pics or testride.

I'll put the picture here as I had to find the post:
Done a great job with the weight, is this an SLR? Must be miles lighter than a SL frame!
Still sitting at 7.7kg with all mounts (computer and Varia) and pedals.LRB23 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 3:34 pmInterested to know how you got on lightening your Emonda?Raymonndo wrote:Few snaps of my Emonda and how it sits as of now . Any tips to shed some grams welcome.

I've got a few areas I can lose weight but don't think there is much more to do. There must be a large weight difference with SL and SLR.
Is this an SLR frame? If so what country did you buy in? Wish they did this colour as SLR in the UK, it's only on the SL 5 build here for some strange reason. I might have to get on a plane for those blues
Looks like SLR frame. Chainstay shows Project One.
Same here in Canada, only that colour in SL5.
Damn it Trek knew what they were doing!kookie wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 10:51 pmLooks like SLR frame. Chainstay shows Project One.

Is this generally seen as a womens paint job due to the Trek Segafredo womens team riding it?
Strange how they'd do that colour in frame sizes up to 62cm if that was the case.
I've found it in stock but I'm torn due to my mind automatically thinking of it being a women's livery.
