Have a look at Rides of Japan when he built up his Emonda. It turned out the supposed lightweight seat post parts weight more than than the standard ones he purchased.

Seen it many times. The red clamps yes. But not the black parts sitting inside the top of the seatpost.

Hello everyone, I was not registered but I have been reading you for a long time, I have registered to show my sl5/7 with the new yoeleo handlebar system, finally a handlebar that looks good (in my opinion) on our bikes. If anyone is interested, I can post photos in more detail. This system replaces the piece that says go go go

Definitely post pics. I’m looking at possible alternatives, so far I’ve come across an aero integrated bar on Panda Podium that looks good and one that finally hides ALL the cables. Luckily the man Rides of Japan is installing one also so we should see a review of that possibly on Instagram.

Hello WW, apprently it's time for lurkers to get out of the woods

Nice bike alvarop82, very clean, I also changed my SL5 cockpit recently to a EXS Aerover, bought the 380mm - 90mm one, really happy with it

@oversoul That Aerover handlebar is very nice too, lighter than Yoeleo (mine is 410g in 420x100) but also $150 more expensive :D , plus I live in Europe, I would have to add taxes etc. Yoeleo ships free to Europe from Germany. Im very happy with yoeleo, it is 40cm on top (in 42x100) and very little reach, very comfortable.

I see, I weighted mine at 300g (only the bar) and you're right I live in Europe too and had to pay customs taxes, fortunately Billy from EXS declared a lower value on the package (I didn't ask for it)

Hi All,

I’ve borrowed my friends Emonda to test out and it has a loud and annoying friction ‘squeak’ coming from the headset. I think it’s the top tube spacer and the handle bar spacer where the brake hoses feed into. If I turn the two spacers independently of each other they make a noise. Anytime you pedal hard, pulling on the handle bars they make a noise. Also present on descents when the road surface is rough. Any ideas?

Aside from it being annoying I’m trying to be the good friend and want to fix it before handing it back.

It’s a fun bike to descend on, very firm but certainly fun. Ive had a desire for one ever since ROJ unveiled his build a couple of years ago.

Very nice build. For a second I thought you run Lightweight wheels. :)

The Emonda has to be due for a refresh soon. It seems odd there haven't been any rumors. Unless Trek is going the way of Specialized and dropping one model. Which would be odd given the Madone isn't the lightest frame out there.

I think TREK is generally pretty good as far as leaks/rumors but I do agree that the current Emonda sits in a weird spot as its not particularly competitive with the lightweight or even all rounder bikes from other brands, but also not aero enough to be noteworthy among aero bikes. I do think there will be a new model next year, and I hope they don't drop the seatstays and make it look like everyone else. Not sure that it will get the IsoFlow though, since it was designed mostly to save the weight of IsoSpeed which Emonda never had.
