Aeolus RSL 37V. Disc only. Tubular or TLR.

I am excited by the new Tarmac and SL7 and the new wheels coming. Becuase they will be Disc only
Not that this is a disc vs a caliper discussion - but its undeniable that something designed solely for one will have less compromises than a design which needs to work for both
The reason the Venge is almost as light as a Tarmac SL6 is becuase latter needs to be both rim and disc. The SL7 wont have these constraints
Same with wheels; current CLX50s are rim and disc
Next ones will be disc only...
Soon, this generation or the next, disc bikes will start getting very light again. The pace of progress..

My dealer told me the Emonda will be introduced in July along with new wheels. He said the new wheels will basically be a high end version of the Aeolus Pro 3V

They are the only new wheels on the UCI approved list
So at 37mm deep they will be in addition to the current XXX range, and not replace them?

We're already told the frame will be less than 700g, but I wonder how much weight will be added to the fork which is currently 350g.

The forks from other fully-integrated disc bikes are

- Scott Addict RC 340g
- Wilier Zero SLR 340g
- Orbea Orca OMX 370g
- Specialized Venge S-Works (full-integrated) 385g
- Cannondale Supersix Evo 389g

Besides that, the steerer tube will be 20mm shorter if only H1.5 geometries are available so I expect it will be around 360g.

It will be interesting if they do that and have an aero 28mm tyre wheel.. however if this is meant to be the ultra light and aero wheels to compliment the new Emonda, strange not to just focus on 25mm to save weight?

So if this is the new Emonda and the new Tarmac, because of the weird seat post top on the tarmac I am a bit more drawn to the Trek.. however do think both are the best looking of the new aero GC bikes (along with the TeamMachine..)

The Emonda seatmast being round is going to hurt it aerodynamically. Also it looks like they’ve left out an integrated bar/stem option for now.

With the cables running under the bar and into the top cap looks very similar to how the current venge does it....

The Tarmac seatpost has the Di2 junction box, that's why it looks weird. Hopefully they'll either have a non-Di2 seatpost for eTap users or people who don't like the junction there, or maybe it's the same seatpost shape and the old one will fit. I'd personally rather have the barend junction and get a normal seatpost.

It's pretty safe speculation considering the Madone is H1.5-only.
