I've struggled with saddles for years. I have issues with going numb and in 300k+ rides it hurts to pee. This issue was solved with an SMP forma but there not what I'd describe as comfortable. I've done many long rides of 600k but wouldn't fancy doing too much more on one.

I bought a Selle SMP full carbon lite as some said it was more comfortable than the forma, it's not as it's way too hard with no flex.

I have an infinity saddle in the post and I'm looking at both the lupina and the MCFK open saddle. The rounded shape of the MCFK looks nice. Has anyone used both of these and could provide a comparison.

Also does this forum have a private sales section? Sometimes when I google products results come up but I can't access them.

Is there something you are training for which requires 300-600k rides? I can't imagine any saddle being comfortable after that distance, it will be a combination of many things causing discomfort from heat to chafing as well as pressure points. Maybe just ride shorter distances?

I do audaxing so enjoy longer rides*. I was training for a 2800k ride in 7 days starting June the first but that has been but on the back burner until next year for obvious reasons.

*I enjoy riding most when I've been on the bike for 15+ hours, it turns into meditation as your only thinking about turning the pedals. The highs are high and the lows are low. It's "fun". YMMV.

Oh yeah, this is fixed as well so I tent to bounce a little at high cadence (180prm) when tired.

I have not ridden the MCFK, DAT, but you might find my review of the Lupina helpful as I'd also liked the Forma previously.

Thank you. How did you find the width with the 150mm compared to the forma? Did you regret not going for the slimmer model? I would be looking unpadded anyway.

Edit: I also rotate my pelvis on my forma a lot. Is this possible with the lupina without crushing my tubes?

Coming from the flatish 143mm Dimension I was worried the 150 might be too wide, but Eric at Elite Velo Solutions assured me it would be spot on and it is in fact perfect.

My sit bone spacing is about 122 for reference.

The Lupina is significantly rounded side to side, more than the Forma, and the flex it gives at the sides is noteable too and IMO a key to the designs comfort.

Like you, I also rotate the pelvis forward fairly agressively, but even with that the Forma was always borderline too narrow. I have no doubt the 140 Lupina would be really pushing my luck width wise, but you may be different.

Eric will send you one to trial if you are in the states and he is easy to work with in helping you select the right size/model. I was first looking at the Dila and he smartly steered me towards the Lupina after asking me riding and physique details.

I'm in the U.K. we do have a dealer but they don't do testing. £245 is a lot to drop on a saddle without trying it.

With the flex of the saddle do you sit in it like a forma or is it as flat as the profile looks?

I did that about 4 years back. I hated not having a nose and it rubbed my thighs too much.

The profile and fit is somewhat similar to the Forma, especially with the way I have it set slightly nose up, but the Lupina "pocket" allows for a longer, more comfortable range of fore/aft shifting. Some online photos make it appear flat like an SLR, but it is not completely flat front to back and is significantly rounded side to side. The profile is probably most like a Romin, but the fit and feel is leagues superior to the Specialized saddle.

The Lupina is quite unique, and nothing else really compares to it overall in my experience (and I've ridden about everything out there).
