In my case, long legs, shorter torso, the liv geometry fits me much better than a tcr.

If they go hidden cables, d-shaped steerer becomes a problem as i get restricted to the -10° degree stems which then replicates specialized tarmac geometry. My escape would be to go for a -6° stem on the liv and that way end up with fewer spacers.
You clearly just need to buy a Defy.
it's on my shortlist indeed. the new defy.

Hi there.

Still waiting for some reply of people using EXS fork for giant TCR. would like to know how happy they are , how long they have been using it, if there are anyproblems known.
I am a bit leery when it comes to chinese products, specially about bike components which can be dangerous to use.

Thanks.
KR,
JP.
Hilarious, you're probably best not riding any bike built in the last 20 years! Get a steel frame with some Shimano 9 speed and Mavic Open rims.

You're a bit to confident but that is your problem not mine ;). There is big difference between chinese products and to be honest most Taiwan bike brands are ok, chinese i wouldn't touch for anything if it doesnt have all certificates or is a well established brand.

Factor, Canyon, Pinarello, Bianchi, 3T etc etc. I've ridden branded and unbranded Chinese frames and wheels for numerous CX seasons and two editions of the Ronde van Vlaanderen sportive with no issues whatsoever. If you're presently riding any carbon components on your bike and believe they don't come from China, you're deluded.

The problem with most skeptics like yourself is you do not read/understand mandarin.

If you understand how domestic china market works, you will understand, perhaps even more like you, the majority of them are even more critical of their own locally produced goods, to the point of irrationality.

With this being said, EXS is one of the few brands in domestic china market that is often sold OUT OF STOCK.

The designer, kiritozhang, is one of the very highly respected designers/brand owners in China.

If that isn't enough to convince you, learn mandarin and go hangout at their equivalent of forums.

No problem i don't need mandarin. I guess you're fluent :), but i did spend a year in china actually working there in heavy industry so kind off have an idea how they work, eat and behave.

Far from saying all is bad but unfortunatelly for such a big market good products are hard to find. Maybe in the lasts years this got better i wouldn't know. Anyhow didn't want to talk bad about chinese brands just wanted an opinion here and i have got it. Still think lot of people to confident when buying. Also personaly know people buying chinese bikes which took two days to assemble because everything was off.

Thanks by the way that most of you confirming EXS is a trusted brand. I already bought the product.

Is there a difference in weight between the advanced-SL FF and the advanced-SL (non-FF) ? Bikeinn has both listed at quite a different price

In Giant's catalogues, the FF usually refers to Frame & Fork. So I'd guess a non-FF is refering to a frame-only, which also explains a difference in price.

Giant doesn't sell the Advanced SL without a fork. The difference is that the non-FF one is the earlier model with external brake hoses (you can see the port on the left fork), and those with the FF designation are the later models with internally routed cables. The one at £1747.49 is a bargain if you like the colour and don't mind external hoses.

Thanks, yeah that makes more sense. Solid bargain, but that would also mean a slightly heavier frame right? Or is it actually the new 2024 with external cables? I'm a bit confused

The purple one is clearly the older (2021) design with external cables and webbed seatstay junction. There is no newer design with external cables. The new ones are reported to be 75g lighter. The confusion may be that Bikeinn calls them both 2024 models, whereas other places call the new one a 2025.

Is it possible to order unpainted/RTP frames from Giant?

Hello,

I have a 2018 TCR Advanced 2, so rim brake.
It works well.. I wanted to upgrade but can't justify to pay 4/5k€ for a New bike.
So I prefer upgrade mine :
- New wheelset (45mm Wheelsfar)
- New custom paint
- replace 105 parts with ultegra
- New cockpit

Regarding the cockpit, I want something more "aero" and light. So I was considering the Farsport F1s. But to look good i need to know if I can't put the spacers of the New models on my 2018 tcr ? Because mine have round shape and I thing it will look nicer with oval shape

Thank you :)
