Compatibility dura ace 9100 cables with ultegra 6800

I need to replace cables on my dads ultegra 6800 bike.
As a campy guy I don t have a lot experience with Shimano
I would like the best cables.
Are 9100 cables compatible?
Is the outer cable for the rd (that can bend more for the shadow like 9100 rd) long enough for an older type 6800 rd?

yes, cross compatible.
And since your RD is 6800. Just cut the regular type outer housing to do the large bend for your RD loop. You don't need the extra flexible housing.

DA housings are compatible and do the job pretty well. They are not light but I think weight is not so important as you want the best performance. You don't need OT RS900, just use normal Sp41.

DA cables are very smooth, but the lifespan is not high as the coating will come off. If you want a balance between smoothness and lifespan, alligator 31 strand superior shine cable is a good choice.

Does ultegra use the same inner cables as dura ace for brake and shifting?

No, the duraace ones have a polymer coating that whilst makes them very smooth does eventually fur up which could mean that you have to change your outers too. The ultegra cables have some sort of ptfe coating which is harder wearing in my experience but not quite as smooth. Ymmv

I was just about to order the cables when i noticed following warning for the dura ace brake housing+ cables:

"BC-9000 (polymer coated brake cable) must not be used other than in combination with brakes of BR-9000 series!
Other combinations do not provide a sufficient clamping-power. As a result the braking cable may become lose and braking-control may get lost completely, which might cause severe injuries!"

I don't understand this whole coding system from shimano. It drives me nuts.
Can somebody guide me to the SKU for the best ultegra 6800 compatible brakescables + housing?

Igore that. DA cables work well with a lot of brakes. If that annoy you, it's easy to stripe off the coating at the clamping area.
