Just putting the final touches to reducing weight of my summer road bike and my attention has turned to Ti Skewers.

My Easton skewers are quite heavy, so I could probably save 60g+ with some Ti Skewers. But I have heard plenty of bad things about creaking Ti Skewers on this forum.

Does anyone have advice on which Ti Skewers are good, right now I'm looking at Lifeline, Token Road Shark tk221 and XLC Pro SL Carbon Titanium Skewers.

I have had excellent luck with KCNC ti skewers. Both the regular ti and the lighter grooving. Oldest pair is going on 4 years with no issues.

The x-lock carbon ti skewers look cool and just within price range. Tho kcnc are a bit cheaper.

Wonder if they are any better then Lifelines from Wiggle tho.

Have you had any issues with the clamping force?

I like the ones from Far/Near, carbon and alloy at a decent price.

About 75 grams.

viewspeed are great. i overtorqued the hell out of one of them, not realizing i was bottoming out on too narrow of an OLD. no real damage to it.

I would prefer something around the 40g-50g mark, don't care about going below 40g. Still think the Lifeline skewers look good value, has anyone had any experience with them?

Lifeline okay. Need to be tightened up before each ride to stop creaking.

Don't wanna do that, bad enough pumping up tyres.

Carbon Ti,with a caveat. They're creak-free when installed exactly per the manual. Over tightening results in cracked cam-side caps. Replacement caps are available, fortunately.

Are u a sprinter? Or you heavy?

If both answers are no, lifeline is pretty well. It's made by fouriers from taiwan. Or just use it for the front wheel.

Not heavy 64kg, but do like short sprints. Tune DC 100 / 130 look nice, but a lot more expensive than Lifeline Ti.

Main thing to stay away from are plastic washers, which deform.
