I have the THM Ulna and 3T Ergonova Team. The Ulna is by far stiffer than the Ergonova. The cross section of the Ulna is larger and this is where the stiffness comes from. I'm not a sprinter but I've found the stiffness to my liking (instills confidence in descents and out-of-saddle efforts).

Do the cable routing holes near the stem affect the structural integrity of the bar or make the bar more flexy? I notice some carbon handlebar manufacturers don't offer bars with holes for interal routing and I wonder if that is the reason why. Or do they reinforce the area around the holes with extra carbon material?

Years ago I had an FSA K-Wing carbon bar that cracked while I was out riding and I noticed the crack appeared around one of the cable holes near the stem. Those were old bars though, and maybe the design has improved a lot since then.
