I have a 2015 Scott Addict that I use on my trainer only. It has Dura Ace 9000 mechanical all around, but I was thinking of converting it to a 1x and run a larger cassette (11-40). It's just a fun project to keep me busy as there is not much I want to do on my other bike (new Izalco).
I think I should be able to make it work just fine using:
- Wolftooth Chainring
Wolftooth Roadlink (possibly not even required)
Shimano 105 7000 GS rear derailleur
SLX CS-M7000 11-40 cassette
Any reason I should go with MTB derailleurs instead? Using 105 seems to be the easiest as it can be used as-is with DA.

RD-RX812 derailleur was made for 11-40 and 11s STI, other road derailleurs will shift slower, mtb derailleurs are not compatible with 11s STI
