Hi, and thanks to anyone who has helped so far. This is an awesome forum and I've got my bike to 16.8 pounds. I want to swap the Shimano 105 crankset, model 5500, for an FSA K-Force, keeping the Shimano BB which is quite light according to this forum. Is the K-Force compatible with an Octalink? This switch will save over 200 grams. John

K-Force is 386 axle (30mm), not compatible with shimano bb (24mm).

You'd need an Octalink version. There are a lot of variants of the FSA cranks - MegaExo, BB30, BBRight, BB3986EVO - all of which won't work. Not sure I've seen that many Octalink ones out there but I've not been looking for them either.

This would:

What about changing the BB as well? Would this fit a 2000 Giant TCR2R frame?

This saves a lot of work for me, thanks!
