Hi everyone,

I recently made an account here and have spent the last hour or so browsing the CAAD build thread in hopes of reducing the weight of my 2013 CAAD10 Black Inc. I recently got into road riding and weight reduction.

I made a little spreadsheet to try and quantify the amount of weight that I could potentially save. Not sure how to put it in but so far I've got this going:

Cassette: Ultegra -> DA
Seatpost: Stock C1 Alloy Post -> ?
Bar Tape: Fizik -> ?
Front Wheel: Ksyrium Equipe -> Reynolds DV3KT
Tires: Gatorskin (F), Vredstein (R) -> Vittoria Corsas?
Chain: KMC -> KMC TiNi

I've been looking all over for the weight of my seatpost so I'm not sure if it's something that is light or not. I'm also not that mechanically inclined (trying to do things by myself though), so I understand that I don't understand some aspects of weight saving if that makes sense. Hopefully this is okay to post!

I used this to help me try and list all the parts on my bike as well: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=122021&p=1038555&h ... c#p1038555

Frame: CAAD10 Black Inc
Fork: CAAD10
Headset: Stock
HS Bearing cover: no idea (my guess is stock)
Compression plug: also no idea (my guess is stock)
BB: (my guess is stock)
Stem: Fair Wheel Kalloy 110mm (101g claimed)
Seatpost: C1 Alloy (not sure of weight)
Seatpost clamp: Stock
Bars: ENVE Road (216g claimed)
Tape: Fizik Vento Solocush Tacky (82g claimed)
Shifters: Ultegra 6770 10 speed
Brakes: Ultegra 6700
Front Derailleur: Ultegra 6770
Rear Derailleur: Ultegra 6770
Cranks: FSA SL-K Carbon
Cassette: Ultegra 6700 11-25
Chain: KMC (don't know what kind...)
Cables/Wires: no idea...
Saddle: Fizik Antares R1 Versus Evo (179g claimed)
Wheels: Mavic Ksyrium Equipe (F), Reynolds DV3KT (R)
Skewers: Tune DC 130 Ti (scary light, are the dropouts supposed to go on the threaded part of the screw?)
Tires: Conti Gatorskin 25m (F), Vredstein Tubular (R)
Bottle Cage: Tacx Cirro (32g claimed)

After tubes/tires (gp5000+supersonic are light, fast and quite puncture proof) maybe upgrade the:

Seatpost, wheels, cassette, chainrings, bolts, brakes, seatpost clamp, compression plug, brake housing (if you feel like it), pedals?, integrated carbon handlebars ~ 250gr?

Use an 11sp chain on your 10s system. The lightest affordable chain is the PYC SP1101.
