do I need to adjust the FD if I were to run stock standard 105 R7000 including the cranks? Thank you.

I had to ever so slightly. It shifted without an adjustment but not well.

got a question and I think it fits in with this thread, as it's mash up with da and xtr components.  I've searched the web, but haven't found the answer I'm looking for.  I'm running da 9150 di2 rear derailleur.  would xtr 11 speed pulleys be compatible?

Gidday guys, another pulley question. I am running the 12 speed XTR chain with an 11 speed Ultegra R8000 groupset, with 11 speed pulleys. Should I put a set of 8150 12 speed pulleys on, just wondering if the chain will sit on the pulleys better.
Not having any issues, just wondering if it would be any better.

Regards to all.

Unfortunately for some reason, I notice my chain is "picking up" on my guide pulley when spinning backwards. As has been described in this topic previously, it does not seem to be releasing cleanly. It is almost like the R8000 11 speed G pulley teeth are too tall. Tried a set of 8150 12 speed pulleys, but shifting went to crap. Put a set of HSC ceramic pulleys that I had on, which have quite low profile teeth, and it is much better.

Great timing to stumble upon this thread as I'm looking for a new chain. Found a source for the XT M8100 chain in Canada. I'll be running this on the 11 spd Shimano 105 r7020.
What was your experience with the M8100 chain in the R7020 groupset? Had any problems, specially with the rear derailleur pulleys?

Thanks.

It was great, I've been using it ever since rotating through 2 M8100 chains and it has been flawless. No issues with the pullies.

Thanks. How about the finish on the M8100 chains? It stays shinny and chrome with time, or start to oxidize and look gray, with a rough surface? It gets rust if wet?

Has anybody tried the YBN 12 speed chains on their 11 speed groupsets? I've had great success with the M8100 chains on my R7020 groupset but would really like the rainbow or gold color of the YBN. Not sure if I should be getting the 12 speed or 11 speed from YBN given that ZFC has the 12 speed chain being faster than the 11 speed.

Why do you ask about YBN chain in this thread?

Seems to be the place where people have expirimented most with 12 speed chains on 11 speed drivetrains. I didn't think it warranted a brand new topic, maybe I'm wrong.

I considered getting a 12speed YBN chain, but there was mention earlier in this thread (and possibly another thread) that there wouldn't be a difference in noise between 11 and 12 speed YBN chains. The theory is that the noise reduction is related to the different links used in the Shimano 12 speed chains.

I am looking to try the 12 speed xtr chain, but not heard of anyone using on my drivetrain.
Will I have issues? Notably with the Sram jockey wheels?
Sram force cx1 11 speed derailleur
Sram red 11 speed cassette
Absolute black 1x oval chainring

Many thanks

No, you need a hyperglide front chainring because of the chain profile

I am planning to use 12sp cn9100 chain on Sunrace CSMS 11-36 cassette, would it run ok?
RD is Ultegra RX, and currently I am running 11-34 Ultegra 11sp cassette with same cn9100 chain with 0 issues!
