My problem = New frame can't fit a left side crank pm (4iii and pioneer rub and im pretty sure others will too)
I have already have lots of $$$ in bits and pieces so I'm confused on how to remedy the situation

The setup I wanted >> Road 1x11 with 44t front and 10-42 rear
Ive pressed my BB already (24mm) and have a few absoluteblack oval 1x chain rings (42,44,46,48), 10-42 cassettes and xt di2 rd

Solution #1 buy a right side pm (dura ace 9100 basically same price as ultegra)
Stages R PM = $900
Left Crank Arm = $150
Total Cost = $1050

This seems the most obvious but absoluteblack 1x rings probably do not fit with the stages pm (according to absoluteblack)
Meaning I would need to find new chain rings that do fit or go 2x (and I dont actually know if my 50-34 oval rings will fit?)

Does anyone know if 1x oval chain rings will fit with a stages right sided pm? my current absolute black or maybe other brands like rotor?
Update - rotor says 1x rings will fit but none available currently (on backorder)

Going 2x means I need to buy two derailleurs and have no use for my 1x stuff
Total Cost = $1550

Solution #2 Arm/spider pm
Need ideas here ;)
Is there anything out there that lets me use current bb, rings or stay 1x?

Im aussie so retail options dont seem very good
Power2Max 110 4 bolt shimano + Easton 90 SL = $1300
New BB = $100
Total Cost =$1400
Fits my current chain rings (I think anyway)

Potential Solution #3 power pedals + road shoes (I only own mtb shoes + pedals)
Shoes = $400 (fizik infinito - love my x1s so id want to buy road model)
Pedals = $640 (assimo uno maybe but would need to research more)
Left Crank = $150
Total Cost = $1190

Apologies for long winded post but I'd like to get back riding on the road asap
Its getting warm here and too many snakes on mtb trails is making me paranoid

Can anyone think of any other options?

I'm trying to buy a left side crank but would like to get power asap as I live in a really hilly area

One cheap way is quarq gxp crankset + 24 to 22 adaptor, dfour or dzero depanding on your rings.

Aren't there non-drive side spacers for this very reason? I seem to remember seeing them when looking at Pioneer PMs.

I thought about this but the clearance is pretty bad (more than a few mm)
Quick google says that Ultegra 8000 Q factor = 146mm

I guess id have to add spacers to both sides to balance the change?
so 4mm left and 2mm right = 152mm new q factor so still not as high as mtb cranks

First of all, Stages have better frame clearance than 4iiii in my experience.

Since you have pressfit BB and 24mm, Im assuming its a BB86 frame, then 24mm axle is recommended for better bearing life.

Quarq GXP is a good solution, would recommend to swap BB, comes in both 5 bolt and 4 bolt pattern depending on hva your chainrings are.

Other, and probably cheapest solution is to go P2M NGeco + Aldhu24, no need to change BB and comes with the same bolt pattern options as quarq.

Id be able to use my chain rings but quarq fairly pricey here
Cranks + Dfour = Approx $1750

crank based pm doesnt work well with oval chainrings - just from my own experience and what dcrainmaker says on his blog too.
just 0.02$

P2M /w shimano 110 4 bolt = $730 so not bad
Cranks can't get here but bikeinn has them for $330
= $1060 all up so decent option

I dunno if i can handle another left side pm not fitting haha
(it will probably cause a mental breakdown)

Assioma Favera pedals are on sale at Clever training (+20% 0ff) for VIP members
By all accounts, they are level with other high end pm's
Just an outside box idea..

Cyclocross, in general, is about riding the wrong bike for the conditions.

$640 is the price for Assioma Duo, but can be had for less

velobuild r066 disc

I think it might actually fit but cant find any to try and don't wanna go through dramas again
Pioneer and 4iii clip by 2mm but the stages unit is essentially flipped (i.e narrower toward spindle)

I've scored a left side crank for $100 + right side stages pm for $200 off thanks to black friday
$800 all up plus came with 52/36 rings to sell ($150 or so)

Negatives = I have to wait and see if my 1x absolute black rings fit
However Garbaruk + Rotor + Pass Quest 1x rings should all work
