the new cervelo s3/5 sucks! Ar least for me. I really hate the cable Integration in the frontend...
I could get the 18' s3 for 1800€. Is this still a good deal? Top end 2020 tcr is only 2300€
I never had an Cervelo... how is the BB?

I had an '18 S3. I wouldn't get one again. There are better bikes out there.

Cervélos BBright is an imperfect design. It is difficult to get it to align properly and work optimally. - I would avoid Cervélo for that reason alone.

i'd get an old s5 because they are still very fast but an old s3 feels like all the compromises for just average aerodynamic performance. I've owned a few cervelos and have had good luck with BBright but I'll call that luck , I've heard much to the contrary from other users. I'd probably pass on an old S3.

I currently have a previous generation S5 (2017) and I love it to bits. Never once had a problem with the BB and I believe it is still a very fast bike and is also quite light in terms of it being an aero bike.
No comment regarding the S3 but it always appeared to be abit half-baked compared to the S5. The one thing I do like from the current S3 is the stem that allows for cable integration, I wouldn't mind seeinf it that would work on my older S5.

Surely an aeroad on discount would be better than an S3?

Yes, old S3 have low amount of tire clearance. It fit tire measured 28mm (which can be 25c that run big). But not much more.
Aeroad, despite how it looks with wheel cut out in the back, has more tire clearance to fit oversized 28c or 30c.

I'd go and buy a Look! or a Time.

All of these aeroweenies who want sexy looking frames are being hoodwinked, the loss through the transmission misalignment will urinate on the aero savings unless you can ride at 50km/h under your own power.
