I just bought a 2020 Focus Izalco Max Disc with the BB86 bottom bracket. The groupset was swapped for the previous gen Sram etap 11 speed but I can't figure out if I have the BB30 or the GXP version of the crankset.

I was pretty much set on going with the Favero pedals, but I'm not sure I'll be able to switch from my DA pedals. I had a pretty bad experience with Speedplay recently and I'm concerned I won't like the Look system.

Stages have a crank arm for BB30 I believe and it could be an option.

I currently have a P2M Rotor 3D+ crankset on my CAAD12 but I doubt it'd fit the Focus?

Whats the drive side crank arm look like, can you upload a pic?

Id assume your crank is GXP as thats what works the best with BB86. Its possible its a BB30 crank, easiest way to tell is to see what youve got. GXP will have a wide hole on the drive side while BB30 will have an 8mm or 10mm bolt.

if you have this version of GXP with the intergrated spider then you cant use a Quarq with that crank

Your P2M can be made to fit but the bearings in those BBs dont tend to last long and is really not a good choice.

If the crank spindle bolt is on the drive side, then it has a 30mm spindle. If the bolt is on the NDS, then it's GXP. A BB86 based frame should generally stay away from 30mm cranks.

Favero pedals are damn good. SPD-SL is ever slightly better than Look, but not better enough to steer clear of pedal-based PMs.

3D+ is 30mm...

Isn't the focus PF30? They could have changed it on the 2020, but the older ones are PF30

Focus's website says BB86.

Stages has a GXP one sided crankarm using an FSA built arm.

I can't take a photo of the bike but a Google search shows the drive side as hollow.

That would mean it's a GXP then.

Using this thread but changing slightly, I have one of those gxp sram red cranks. Compact version I supposed as I use 52/36 or less.

However, I was wondering if I can use a 53t front ring with this crankset. Any ideas?
