so what does premium pricing get you versus canyon anyways. quality control is mediocre. i recall the original first gen carbon bmc frames would all crack. consumer be warned.

something to think about when you buy one of those forks with integrated cable routing (squared steerer)..
If you're referring to the fact that Canyon "scans" their forks, I was just informed that what Canyon does is x-ray their forks. Which is next to useless and a marketing ploy. What they should be doing if they were serious, is using an ultrasound like raoul luescher (http://luescherteknik.com.au/)
+1
Canyon x-rays on their frames and forks is more of clever marketing. I don't think that their qc is better on worse than other similar frames eventually.

his videos have become painful to watch..... just get to the point already.

It is a fork from a frame involved in a crash but in the video Luescher explains why the design of the fork is not good.
But you are bored to watch it and I am even more bored to explain it to you.

yeah I watched the whole thing... no explaining needed. I'd rather he get to the point. I have a BMC with a very similar shaped fork. The edges are not that sharp.. not any sharper then you would find on a wheel (even a lightweight wheel) or any other carbon frame.... I know you know this.

Work on your attention span, along with appreciating the fact that he's sharing information that he really doesn't have to...spdntrxi wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 7:48 pmyeah I watched the whole thing... no explaining needed. why... I prefer to be consise instead of 5 minutes of mumbling randomess.. he's just looking for likes and followers. What did you learn ? A crashed fork can have a crack? really. I disagree with his comments about sharp edges, as I already pointed out. I may not be a carbon "expert" but Ive repaired carbon and it's still going strong 5 years running and I stayed at the holiday inn.velov wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 12:25 amWork on your attention span, along with appreciating the fact that he's sharing information that he really doesn't have to...spdntrxi wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 7:48 pmyeah I watched the whole thing... no explaining needed. But this is a fork steerer. He was trying to point out:spdntrxi wrote: yeah I watched the whole thing... no explaining needed. I'd rather he get to the point. 1. Carbon forks have been manufactured close to 30 years.
2. Recently steerers shaped in different ways (not round or cylindrical) have gained popularity because of new feature requirements.
3. He is concerned about safety, as the new steerer design implies safety may not be a clear #1 priority in the engineering process.
