2020 Specialized Tarmac SL7
Moderator: robbosmans
I will post more detailed pictures this week! Thanks everyone for the positive reactions.
Really happy with the bike. Just couple things that need to be adjusted (little bit of disc brake rub).
In the Dura Ace topic I mentioned that i heard a rattle when standing up my pedals. I thought it was the gears (some people mentioned it with the new dura ace on some gears) or the brake rub but after some investigation it are the wheels! In my front and back wheel there is something rattling inside them. Back wheel is much louder then the front wheel. That’s a visit to the bikeshop. Hopefully they can remove it and they don’t have to send back the wheels. It’s driving me nuts this sound, especially when doing climbs and standing on the pedals.

Is it the spokes? Mine make a pinging noise when climbing!
That was also a possibility but it aren’t the spokes or the valve.stridingedge wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 9:09 pmIs it the spokes? Mine make a pinging noise when climbing!
I heard it good when i removed the wheels. It sounds like this: https://youtu.be/DPldvKitI5o

I've had that noise in one or two of my Yoeleo wheels in the past..... it was sort of plastic that I think they use as a bladder to creat the cavity inside in the carbon wheels. I'm sort of surprised to hear that people have experienced this as well with bigger, named brand caron wheels that I would assume have greater quality control.

What headset expander are you all using? The short original black one from Specialized, same/the one from aethos? is really nice. But the new one with the extended red part is quite heavy and I am assuming not everyone is using it...
I have looked at the Deda elementi HSS 70mm and Cane Creek ancora but would like to hear what you are using

Hi @all. After several months of "read only" my WW account registration was finally granted/completed here. No idea why that took so long.
Built my SL7 this spring after grabbing a bargain on the frameset. Upgraded from my beloved SW SL5. Compared to other machines here it's pretty "low spec", still I love riding it

I'm looking for a longer version of the garmin mount for the Venge/Tarmac stem. Do you guys know of any which are at least +2cm compared to the stock version?
Would it be possible to get it custom made somewhere?

Anyone had any luck in straightening the SL7-DM-hanger? Mine seems to not bend at all, guessing I just need more force?
Try buying a new one instead. Not worth the risk or trying to get it perfect.DanielNorway wrote:Anyone had any luck in straightening the SL7-DM-hanger? Mine seems to not bend at all, guessing I just need more force?
