For those that oredered the Shapeways 1030 Garmin Mount that attaches to the from of the Tarmac stem...

Can you tell me where you got the M4 Tee nut, on the backside of the stem plate, that holds the screw,? It looks like this M4 Tee nut must be thin, and possibly curved.

What I did was get an M4 nut (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07H57XW ... asin_title) and use a dremel to square it off to fit. Then bought the Shapeways mount (https://www.shapeways.com/product/HYAZA ... =165417997). I didn't weigh it unfortunately before mounting but it looks and feels solid so far. I'll post a picture when I get home.
When you bought that Tee Nut, did you have to dremel the flat base, or the cylinder that retains the screw? And, did you need a vice to hold the nut while you used the dremel, or will a pair of pliers suffice. Sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm not too handy...

Heavier, more expensive and more brittle.

I'm doing this for function over flare.
Titanium could be heavier (depends on the design) and more expensive but not brittle.

Hey All

Just purchased a couple of direct mount hangers for Shimano rear derailleur the usual suspect Sigeyi and a brand called Redshift from AliExpress.
Negligible weight difference but does not show on my scales both 12g. Sigey says 12.1g and Redshift 12.5G.
very subtle diffrences in design when compared side by side up close and same material 7075 T6
Sigeyi £34.99 and Redshift £1.47!
Received today after ordering on 30 Dec.
Anyone else purchased same hanger? All good quality wise no snapping or cracking?
I have the Sigeyi one on my Canyon and it legitimatley shifts faster and more precisely. One of the best "low budget" bike purchases I've ever made.

Thank you for the info. I see this is in the UK. I am in the US. This would end up being pretty expensive since I already have the stem itself on order.

When you bought that Tee Nut, did you have to dremel the flat base, or the cylinder that retains the screw? And, did you need a vice to hold the nut while you used the dremel, or will a pair of pliers suffice. Sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm not too handy...
The flat base. So it goes from being a circle to more of a rectangle. And below you will see my masterpiece of a drawing. The bottom sketch is a view from the bottom. A set of pliers were good enough for me, just went slow. I don't have a vice but I'm sure it would have helped.

Great, Thank You. Your picture were worth a 1000 words. LOL

I am suprised the threaded portion didnt need to be cut. The Tee Nut you specified seems to be 7.5mm in total height and the thread portion 6.4mm. I would have thought that a nut that long would protrude into the Magway stem. Anyway, I must be wrong since it worked for you. I appreciate the info. I had no luck finding a tee nut here in town today. 😫
