I built it myself. I used the standard 0 offset seatpost from Specialized to make a mould of the D shape. The layup pattern is a mix of UD and 3K carbon cloth. Internal bladder is a modified latex tube to provide compaction. I also made the half moon out of carbon (3K only). The rod, both yokes and titanium bolts are from Schmolke. Total weight is 106g.
Lovely work.
Although seatposts can be relatively simple in structure, to make a reasonable one - even 'just' good enough for personal use - is not at all trivial. I can fully understand why you're not keen to make them for anyone else - the hours add up! Out of interest, did you work with prepreg, or some type of wet layup? 106g is not shabby for prepreg, let alone a wet layup.

Im using a Tarmac Pro SL7 with the stock wheels. It feels a bit wobbly in fast descents and I cant quit push it in the corners as my old bike (Pinarello Gan S 2017). Does someone have the same issue? Or is it just me?

Thanks! I used prepregs here. So much easier to work with. But back when I was racing motorcycles I built carbon parts with wet layups. Fenders, airbox, fairings etc. I experimented a lot with different cloths like kevlar, glass, but also orientation and how many layers etc. A lot broke in the beginning
Right now I'm intrigued by carbon shoes. But that's something for cold winter evenings...

I'm riding the roval rapide cl on a venge and I find it a very stable wheelset for its depth

Current weight 7.8 kg with pedals

Waiting for SRAM Red crankset with power meter to arrive
Where did you get this frame? Do they sell it in the US?
Tarmac SL7 Comp 2022 was purchased in the UK but I'm sure is available to purchase in the US

Updated weight with SRAM Red AXS crankset power meter, Specialized S-Works Power Saddle, Silca latex tubes, pedals, bottle cages and garmin mount 7.4KG

Congrats, that looks sick

Did you change the handlebar too?
I'm looking at that specific model, but I know it comes around 8.24kg for size 52 out of the box. I'm guessing putting a decent set of wheels will save around 400g. What was the next part where you saved the most weight? Crankset?

That's about the only downside of prepreg (okay, storage/shelf life too) - difficulty getting small amounts of less common fibre/resin combinations.
In some ways, the very best composites FEA cannot always match what is learned from making parts which fail! Modern engineering software modelling is a marvel, but it can't do everything and is usually limited by the operator anyway :-)

Is the saddle homebrew too?

If seatposts are not straightforward, then shoes......well I don't think I have the energy!

I know poeple have mentioned that the gap between the top of the headtube and the lower transition is more noticeable on the SL7 than the SL6, but how does it compare to the Venge. I feel like the gap on the Venge is pretty small in comparison to the SL7 and they are similar designs. Would love to get some expert feedback from owners.

For those thinking about stem/handlebar alternatives. Farsports F1:

Great looking bike! It would look even better with all black chainrings. I used acetone to remove the graphics on my Praxis Works Buzz.

Hello, wanted to ask you for my optimal tarmac sl7 size! Currently im riding the Sl6 in size 52 (im 173 cm in hight and leg inseam of ~82), i like the fit on it but i run the saddle at 72,5 cm hight from the bb abd with as much setback as possible.. i am using a 100mm stem with 3t bars which have a huge 104mm reach, i run it with 1 little spacer prob 2 mm..Sometimes i felt if like the bike was a little too small?! Now being at the shop i got a 54 recomended, also specializeds sizing guide recomends a 54 with 69,5 cm saddle hight.. what shall i do??

Yes, Roval Rapide CL are great, stiff wheels with good hubs...

Id stay with 52 for the SL7. Your inseam to overall height is realtivley normal. If I had the chance to buy my Venge again, Id go 54 insteand of 56 ( Im 180 with 84cm)

The SL7 has a 3mm longer reach and 10mm lower stack than the Sl6; so you'll already have some more adjustemnt there in your favor. 54 would be to strechted out / too short of a stem. I prefer smaller frames and longer stems as this gives me a better control. But thats just me.

It doesn't once you include the larger mandatory spacers, afaik.
