Shoe Suggestions (3 velcro straps)

Hi!

Idk why, but I really like shoes with velcro straps. Call me a neo retro grouch? I think I just like the mid 2000s vibe. My facorite pair of shoes ever was the DMT Kyoma. Light weight, easy to clean, and simple.

I'm wondering if any one still makes a high end (full carbon sole) pair of shoes with velcro straps? White in color is mandatory.

Maybe I will have to go custom? Suggestions there? Id prefer vinyl over leather for ease of cleaning (like the material of Adam Blyths Nikes)

I'd look on ebay and/or set up some saved searches for what you are interested in. There are tons of new old stock last generation shoes on ebay with straps. And they are usually super cheap. I just bought some top of the line Shimano mountain bike shoes from the previous generation (ratcheting strap + velcro) for $75.

I've seen some brands like Giro doing the retro thing with laces on top of the line shoes. If you go down a shoe line (like Shimano) to the middle of the range you still often find velcro straps.

Giro Prolight Techlaces might be worth a look. However, I have heard that the material on the uppers is not that durable.

Look for Pearl Izumi Octane SL shoes. I have some of the first model and they are white and black with three velcro straps. Good shoes. If I had not bought too small shoes! Might have to do eBay or Google searches to find a pair in white. Current model 3 is yellow I think. But 1 and 2 Octane SL are mostly white. Super light at 220 grams or so. Carbon sole. Plastic, vinyl, synthetic material for the body.

Wanting something very simple (yet high end with the full carbon sole) I always heard DMT made Nikes. Thought there might be a custom company that can make similar. I personally don't love the look of a lot of custom shoes, like rocket7s for instance. Anyway, thanks for the insight people

I have the white Rapha climbers with triple velcro and Giro EC90 SLXII carbon sole, great shoes. Discontinued but maybe available on eBay or something.
