Then you can pretty much only mount sram cranks, third party cranks with 8-bolt interface basicaly dont exist
So the only way I can use the SRAM AXS chainring is if I mount it with a spider+PM?
Talking about latest version, not the prior gen.
Sram Red use direct mount chainring. It mount directly to 8 bolt crank interface, Both for power meter or non power meter chainring.
Sram Force can be bought with 107bcd. To mount Sram Force 107bcd chainring, then you'd need 107bcd spider. Either plain spider or power meter spider.
Since you have Sram Red chainring. You are out of luck. You need 8 bolt crank to keep the chainring.
If you buy new chainring anyway. Consider 110bcd AXS compatible chainring instead. Rotor make both 4x107 bcd and 4x110 bcd AXS compatible rings.
4x107bcd is Sram 's standard.
4x110bcd is Shimano 's standard. It is a lot more popular for aftermarket chainrings.
