I'm looking to buy a second power meter, and have seen some of the previous generation, non-DUB Quarq DZero cranksets on sale at very good prices.

I have a couple of questions I hope someone can help me with:

1. Can I run 46-36 Praxis chainrings on a Quarq so long as the bcd is 110?

2. Is there any reason I shouldn't buy one of the Quarq DZeros?

Thanks in advance!

1 - As long as they are both 110 BCD then there won't be a problem. Some rings sometimes catch a bump near the battery cover, but this is usually a aero or rotor specific problem.

2 - No there is nothing different. At first the DUB spiders had MagicZero, which zeros the power meter automatically but in the latest update all DZero units get this feature.

One thing to keep in mind is that
Quarq Dzero officially say they are not accurate with Oval chainrings. Yes it is mountable and usable. But the power data is then not accurate.

If you need accurate data reading with non round chainrings, use Power2max, Favero Assioma, or any of Rotor power meter.

I was just about to go buy some oval rings for my Dzero. Thanks for the heads up!

Great - thanks for the replies, everyone!
I won't be using oval rings, so looks like everything will be fine.
