Hello,
two months ago i installed a brand new lower bearing in my fuji sl, a fsa sl abc 110R (which is identical to the original one); as usual I cleaned the headset, the fork and used plenty of teflon grease on the fork, frame and the bearing.
Yesterday, having some time to spare, I checked if everything was ok as I was going for a full group install on my fuji.
Long story short, when I dismounted the fork, half of the bearing was on the fork itself and the other half, the one with the ball bearings, was on the frame.
Just ordered a new one; I wonder what was my mistake? Maybe too much grease?
Should I try to rebuild the bearing and use it again? Fsa bearings usually that weak?
Thanks!
Help for fsa sl acb bearings (rotten by grease?)

I moved away from the lower FSA bearing for this reason. Using a Cane Creek AEAr bearing now.

This happened to me once with a fresh SL-ACB bearing right out of package, I just assembled it back and had no issues ever since.
Thanks, next time I'll stick to the "it ain't broke, don't fix it" rule.
Will mount the new one with extreme care and maybe a touch of marine grease? In the meantime i'll try to reassemble the old one, and find the suitable cane creek bearing.
Thanks!
