Hi wws

I'm looking for an izalco max to make a weenie bike.

I've been looking for over a year (no rush, i'm fairly happy with my current frame) and occasionally come across reported actual weights for frames for sale.

I've learned from looking at other bicycle frames that glossy paintjobs weigh more than matte.

Here is where I'm confused. It appears that the matte black painjob izalco frames are 700-725gr and the glossy frames are roughly the same.

Could it be possible that a paint stripped glossy izalco ends up a lighter frame than a matte frame (paint stripped)?

I'm left to conclude that glossy izalcos are lighter than the matte ones. Am I wrong?

I know I weighed my electronic, xs matte finish frame before i built it up. I took photo's of both on the scale so will dig them out in the morning and post but from memory the cut fork was circa 290 and the frame was 670 or so

What paintjob is that?

For everyone posting I'd like to ask if your frames came with the fsa acb sl alloy headsets?

Had my eye on the above frame and got one today.

The frameset came with a metal shim with a starnut inside and 2 part epoxy for to bond it to the inside steertube to connect the top cap.

It will be lightweight but but doesn't seem like a good option since it will permenantly bond to the steer tube and prevent me from using other options such as a lightweight expander plug.

I would like to know others thoughts on this or if perhaps the seller switched out an expander plug on me.
