Trek Domane SLR and Campagnolo Record EPS v3

Does anyone have any experience of successfuly installing EPS Record v3 into a Trek Domane SLR?

I understand there is a removable "plate" on the downtube where the bottle cage screws are located which would be large enough for the battery to fit through. Can the battery then be fitted to this plate? Are the holes by the front and rear derailleur large enough for the Campagnolo connectors?

Any guidance or information on the installation would be very gratefully received.
