Deep rear wheel on windy days?

I'm 85kg on a spec venge. I have now got CLX64's. I am thinking for widny days and hilly days of getting either a set of hunt 30's (£800) or I can get a new CLX 32 front for £509. Is it really worth getting a shallow rear wheel? or get the CLX 32?

I’m 22kg lighter than you and still ride ENVE SES 5.6s (54mm front, 63mm rear) on all but the windiest of windy days.

The definition of windy for rider A is sometimes very different compared to rider B.

For me I don't mind riding an 88mm front on windy days. I'm 65kg. But then I never ride without my hands on the bars.

I ride Mavic Comete at 64mm (I think) in all conditions and have no issues. Although there's certainly less buffeting on a shallower wheel it's not the wind that I use shallow wheels for, usually wet or grimy conditions.
If money were no object a 25-30mm wheel with a slightly aero profile would be nice I guess.
There are others I'd try before Hunt, check the Cero AR30, I haad some 4 years ago that my wife has stolen from me. They're 1400g with sapim CX ray spokes. Think I'd go down that route again. I'm 80kg.

I was thinking both hunts or just a clx 32 front as on sale.

personally I'd just swap out the front... get a CLX32...forget the hunts.

I hate the feeling of riding with side-winds and getting blown around not just on bicycles, but also on motos, for me it starts a negative feedback loop as I feel I'm not in control I grab the bar harder and that tension increases less control and more tension.

I'd never bother with anything over a 50mm rim but 30mm is my go to, but my rides are mostly up and down mountains and hills where aero isn't that important anyway. But for everyone it depends on your local terrain. If I lived in a flatter area I would certainly experiment with deeper rims.

Takes 10 sec to swap out the front and braking would be similar so this would be my choice. If the rears are slightly different you will then need to include time for indexing gears, adjusting brakes etc.
