Wish Cotton's could be permanently dyed black.

as someone looking into the TCs as next tires,is the puncture protection non existent ? Of course this also depends on what the road conditions are in your locale.
I'm currently on GP5KTLs on 28 and the choice is TCs or Pirelli TLR. Thanks

GP5k TL is amazing how fast. It made me a convert to believing in road tubeless (hooked). It is that fast.

I run the 28mm TC's which are more resilient than the 24/26's. In 9000 miles I've punctured once and the roads around me are rural English lanes known for being pretty bad.
Thanks for your input. Roads I ride into are generally pot-hole free but you do get the occassional stray nails/screws. I will put that into cosideration. Thanks again!guyc wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 6:49 amI run the 28mm TC's which are more resilient than the 24/26's. Wait, are you saying your Turbo Cotton lasted 9000 miles?guyc wrote:I run the 28mm TC's which are more resilient than the 24/26's. In 9000 miles I've punctured once and the roads around me are rural English lanes known for being pretty bad.
I wanted to get hem but the local Specialized dealer advised that for training I am better off with S-WORKS Turbo as they last much longer... They said TC would last 1-2k km, which for me is about a month.

Not one pair! I get around 3500 miles from a pair. No way are they done after 600-1000 miles which is what they've told you.
Thanks a lot! This is really good mileage and will definitely buy them next time.guyc wrote:Not one pair! I get around 3500 miles from a pair. No way are they done after 600-1000 miles which is what they've told you.
Although I will be running 26, but shouldn't be a problem.

My experience with Turbo cottons has been pretty so so. Look awesome, super fast, supple, handle well.
But I just had so many puncture. Thread and sidewall. I am not riding the world's greatest roads, but they just didn't work for me.
On the exact same roads, GP5000C with latex or Aerothan have never punctured.
I know this is a little random, but the minimal wattage saving of the turbos (they roll faster, but test a little slower aerodynamically) will not make up for the piece of mind I have with the Contis.

Yeah using GP5000TL at the moment. Very happy with them.

While I completely believe that tires can be jinxed, that would be 1 puncture in 10'000k. I'd be fine with that.
