New Tire Day! 28mm
Got some GP5000lt from a warrenty claim, but decided to go try out the Pro one TLE.
Pretty easy to get the front tire on. Rear was only slightly harder. Super easy to pop them onto the beads. On DT Swiss ERC 1000 Dicut wheels.
Meassure 27.6mm. we will see how they streach. rought road just seems to disapear under them. Big hits are harsher. I think the reduction in volume has an effect on the bigger hits. Pro ones feel faster at high speed but now as fast at slow speed. They are taller then the GP5000lt too.
What were the problems for your warranty claim.?
Once comes a time that you'll have a tailwind :D

The sidewalls where coming apart. Threads where breaking and hanging off the sides of the tires. Was not from damage of any type.

I recently had a 5000TL that had a weird bump/bulge in it. Tire was seated fine on the rim fine, but it had this large bump/bulge. Swapped another 500OTL on and everything was fine. Continental warrantied the defective tire, so overall NBD.

What pressure are you guys typically running in the new Pro 1's ?

I've done about 1600 miles on the tires typically runnning at 85-95 in my 28mm. Mavic Cosmic UST wheels.

Coming off the Mavic Yikson tires I find these very harsh and difficult to get confident in corners. I would've kept running the yikson if they were a little more durable. I tried the GP5000 but couldn't get them on the rim.

The tires have developed a visible ridge where the two compounds meet. Durability has been good so far. I've had one puncture in the front that covered me in sealant, only lost about 12 psi.

Is that pressure on 28's ?
I'll try the lower pressure tomorrow, I'll be doing some descending with a few nutters.

Interestingly Mavic have just come out with a "Yikson Pro UST 2".

That's a lot of pressure for 28mm tubeless, no wonder they feel harsh and lack grip, I would definitely go lower.

Nah, I'm running that on 25s. The pressure you're running is kinda nuts. I wouldn't run that high on 25s - 28s must suck.

Yes, doesn't feel great with these Pro 1 tires. The higher pressure was fine on the yiksons, edge grip and feel were incredible.

Yksion Pro USTs have a max rating of 87psi for their 28mm tires, so that should say a lot about you running them at 85-95psi.

I just mounted 25mm Schwalbe Pro One tubeless on 21mm internal width rims (Light Bicycle) and they measure 28.2 after a week at 75psi.
Are they the 2020 version? I thought they would be smaller.
So I bought a special one-off set made for the Tour Down Under, mostly because they are tanwall. I’m guessing that may explain some differences. Image

These are the old ones, not the 2020 redesign.
