Fair enough, memory served that I'd seen them but they were the clinchers and the TLRTobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 4:27 am

Hello,
I have kust purchased the new Scott Addict. Scott says that it is built for 28mm tires. I was planning to purchase the new pro one tle in 25mm and mount them on a 21mm inner width rim. Would I get close to 28mm width?
What other options are there to get to 28mm without to much weight penalty (let’s say sub 250g)? Hutchinson fusion performance 28mm? The new Michelin tires?
Thanks in advance.

They will probably be between 27-28mm measured. Don't worry about the weight of performance TLR tires

Thanks a lot! I already ride on the hutchinson fusion tlr galactik 25mm (roughly 225 gr)) and do not feel ready to go to 280gr with 28mm tires, hence my question. A weightweenie at heart!
I just mounted 25mm Schwalbe Pro One tubeless on 21mm internal width rims (Light Bicycle) and they measure 28.2 after a week at 75psi.
New Tire Day! 28mm
Got some GP5000lt from a warrenty claim, but decided to go try out the Pro one TLE.
Pretty easy to get the front tire on. Rear was only slightly harder. Super easy to pop them onto the beads. On DT Swiss ERC 1000 Dicut wheels.
Meassure 27.6mm. we will see how they streach. rought road just seems to disapear under them. Big hits are harsher. I think the reduction in volume has an effect on the bigger hits. Pro ones feel faster at high speed but now as fast at slow speed. They are taller then the GP5000lt too.

Well considering I almost died the other day in the wind, I'll need at least a week to get used to them and the perfect road tempature.
I did set a top 10 off the top of the mountain though.

Interesting. We have Nox Composites wheels with ~21 mm internal width and the 2020 25mm Schwalbe Pro One tubeless measure ~25.8mm at 80-psi on the wife's bike and I have the 28mm which measure approximately ~28.9 mm at the same pressure. Conversely, I was riding pre-2020 Pro Ones at the beginning of the year on the same wheels and the wife's 25mm tires measured ~27.8, while my 28's measure 29.7mm, both at 80 psi.

Mounted tire size doesn't only change because of the internal width, the rim's shape plays a huge part. Hookless, bead hooks small or bigger, rounder hooks, shallower ones, sharper ones, thicker, it can all influence how the tire casing sits in a rim and the shape the tire will take.
