Should I choose the 132 or 150 mm Berk Lupina (unpadded) saddle?

I've ridden the Specialized Romin in the 143 mm size for the past couple of years and have always found the fit good.

Is there a way to tell which size in Berk this translates to?

First we need to know what your sitbone distance is. Maybe the old saddle was small to begin with. I rode the Toupe 143 and went to Berk 150.

That was one of the reasons I went with a padded Lupina, just a little additional width. Continues to be my favorite saddle, I do wonder if I'd get on as well with the 132 unpadded.

Like said before, depends on your sitbones. I used a Specialized Toupe 143mm but got 95mm between my sitbones so more happy with a 132mm Lupina. Best saddle I've had.

Thanks for all the quick replies!

I'm gonna try the 132 mm and see how it goes.

I'll report back. :)

is there any significant issue if i use a saddle wider than my sitbone width?
when i had my fit, the fitter didn't have the tool to measure my sitbones and just asked me to try on a Romin.
but it's just a short period and im not sure if that saddle is actually ok for me.
i use an smp well now and i feel numbness so im looking for a better option

I've got a padded lupina in 150, if you want any specific measurements just let me know and I can post them up tonight.
It's a lovely saddle so hopefully works for you.

I’ve actually had the same question and ride the same romin saddle in 143. Went to Berks FB page and asked the question. They suggested 150mm for the padded version.

I rode a 143 Toupe
Now use a 150mm Padded Lupina

Like them both Lupina is lighter and feels a little more flexible

I rode for years mostly on San Marco Regals and those are pretty wide, loved them. But a padded narrow Lupina is my favorite now.

If you got a too wide saddle you sit further forward and not on the supposed place so are sliding forward.

So after the first ride with the Lupina the first impressions are;

1) It feels a bit stiffer than the Romin S-works, and bumps in the road are more noticable. However, this might improve after a few rides. It might also be due to the fact that it has no padding. I doesn't transfer road vibrations more though.

2) The saddle rails are 7x9, but it doesn't fit the side clamp style S-works seatpost very well. I've got a different style seatpost on it's way, so this doesn't bother me, but maybe this will be important for some people.

3) The Romin has a much more pronounced divot where your ass falls perfectly into place each time you're out of the saddle and you feel very secure. With the Lupina, it takes a bit of sliding back and forward to find the divot.

4) Size wise, the 132mm doesn't seem much different than the Romin 143. I would like to try the 150mm as well to say for sure.

I weighed the saddle and was kinda surprised by the difference in the stated weight and the weight I measured on my kitchen scale.

It is listed at 75 grams, and came in at 84 grams, so it came in 12% heavier which to me seems significant. :(

Is this an acceptable difference?

Hi guys,

My sitbones are 11cm apart and current saddle is 140mm (Antares R1 Open). What saddle size would you recommend for the Berk Lupina? 132mm or 150mm

I've got that Antares on a couple of bikes and like it quite a bit. I went with a covered smaller Lupina (that's what 135?) to get just a bit of extra width, worked well for me. But I can't really say if 132 would've been too narrow...
