2020 Easton EC90SL carbon crank
Moderator: robbosmans
Just got the new Easton EC90 SL crank arms (170mm) with 46-30 chainrings for my gravel bike. As far as I can tell the graphics are slighly different, weight roughly the same, stiffness TBD.
UPDATE:
For what is worth, a rep from Easton told me this morning even though the 2020 EC90 SL crank arms weight the same as previous gen, they are stiffer due to a new carbon lay out. Here's the new crank with 46-30 chainring installed on my Revolt.

They do look beefier as mentioned above. Nice! Thanks for sharing pics. Wonder if a new cinch power axle is being introduced as well.

Which makes yours lighter as that is 170mm. The “old” 170 I had was 350 on my scale FWIWwheelsONfire wrote:Only thing i see is graphics. My 172.5mm version weight is spot on same.

It seems normal. All manufacturers have a tolerance of a few % up and down.
Just that i thought Easton had something of a revision cooking.
I noted it says "sold out" on both the crankset and the EC90 stem (which is old by design now).

Last I checked, only the power meter equipped option had inventory.wheelsONfire wrote:It seems normal. All manufacturers have a tolerance of a few % up and down.

Gotta love unquantifiable and unverifiable sales BS. Eventually someone will test it but not before the public has lapped up the marketing pap.Noctiluxx wrote: For what is worth, a rep from Easton told me this morning even though the 2020 EC90 SL crank arms weight the same as previous gen, they are stiffer due to a new carbon lay out.

That is probably BS as it's zero validity looking at Eastons spec.
I just have been trying to get help from Easton recently, a new rim for my wheelset.
It's like i have been bounced around from Easton to dealerships in EU and no-one actually gives a flying f**k about helping out.
It's frankly disgusting.... Not sure i would invest in any new stuff from Easton

That's the one upgrade I made to my otherwise stock (SRAM) Ibis Hakka MX and I do really like these cranks over the stock Praxis. Though that may due in part to also changing to a Chris King bottom bracket.
Also got the Easton spindle-based power meter and it's been pretty solid, tracking just about with the Quarq on my road bike.

I've had numerous EC90 SL cranks from the old graphics a year ago to the ones I got last week. I've installed them on a Specialized Diverge, 3T Exploro, and now a Cervelo Aspero. I also have the cinch power meter. I'm not sure if it's because I haven't installed the power meter or if they're actually different arms, but I used to get slight heel rub on the diverge and 3T (old graphics), and I don't on the Aspero (new graphics). Once I install the power meter I can report back.
They're great cranks. Super light, and stiff enough that I don't notice any flex (FTP of 360). The only thing I'll say Is get your spacers right. Probably the most annoying part.

Every Easton product I’ve purchased has been awesome and would like to upgrade with their cranksets as well.
Your Giant looks amazing. I also run the Pro 3V wheels, however I’m currently running Bontrager R3 28c tires for mainly riding pavement.
How do you like those wheels and tires? How are they on pavement?
(Sorry to ask off topic question)
