Any insight into updates whether it be just colors or new design? Suspect just the color ways if anything at all but curious. Cheers.

When I was at the LBS ordering the Áspero, I did ask if there are any updates to the R5 and IIRC it's just new colors and maybe Force AXS as an option in the build spec.
Focus Izalco Max - 4.84kg without pedals
Cervélo Áspero - 8.28kg
Trek Madone SLR Rim - 7.73kg
Standert Triebwerk Disc - 8.47kg

The current gen was introduced in 2018. Too soon for a new model.

Thinking a dropped seatstay R5 will start appearing early 2021.

I'm not sure if it's even that. Most Cervelo 2020 is up on the main site and it's still showing the same 2 colours and the same overall spec options just with a couple of tweaks to saddle and tyre selection.
