Cannondale caad 4

Hi guys. I have an cannondale caad 4. Red saeco. Got this one from a co worker. Is it worth the rebuild? I really like older bikes and want to have a yellow seat, tyres and lizzard skins. Has an 7700 dura ace on it that im going to sell. Also ksyrium wheels. I want to put a really light groupset on this one. And light 35-50mm wheels clinchers. Can get vision 35s almost new for just 80 euros. And a set quasar carbon momentum 50mm for 165 euros. But the prices for a sram red group are high. I was thinking to buy every componets seperately. Like fsa carbon light crank and maybe sram red components. Do you guys maybe know other cheap and light brakes and components etc? Have a carbon seatpost and steering wheel. Should i go for 11 sp or 10 sp?

Is it btw possible to get it under 7 kgs? Or is this impossible?

Wauw! Cool. Does it really matter with some Force components that weigh a bit more? My weight is just under 65 kilograms..

Wouldnt be much in it. The wheels on mine weighed 1800g-ish

Any Saeco Caad4 is worth a rebuild, those frames are iconic

So. A vision t35 set is a good set? With tyres and cassette 85 euros! Weight without tyres and cassette 1750? Or recommoned the high carbon clincher quasar 50mm? 165 euros

Or look for a set of eurus with shimano body?

Go for 11 or 10 speed..? I have enought budget. But am I willing to spend it.. is it worth the €£$

I have a Cannondale R300 as my rain bike, and I switched it over to 10 spd with extra parts I had laying around.
The older aluminum Cannondales are nice riding bikes.

Imo I think the smaller tube bikes look better with shallower wheels. Something less than 35mm deep. I run some shallow, aluminum Neugent 1400 gram wheels on mine. The frame fits up to 27mm (measured) tires

I understand. A 10sp wont cost a big deal.. but for me it is my only roadbike... but consider if a 11sp is nescessary.. hmm. Help!

Depends on if where you live is hilly, flat, etc. I live in a flat area and can get away with 10 spd no prob. I never even use the small front chainring.

In the south its hilly. You know the Amstel Gold Race? Thats 40 km from here. Go there once upon a time. Before my heartsurgery I could get up there even with a 10 and a 9 speed... but dont know what you guys recommend. I have sram force 10sp shifters and brakes. Then maybe to buy a red front and back der. And fsa carbon crank?

Yes, that is an iconic bike. Personally, I'd put the best period-correct parts on it that I could find, but it also might look really nice with modern Record.

That is a great riding frame and iconic frame. If it were me I would stick Campagnolo 10 speed on it. A compact chainset (only available in Chorus and below for 10 Speed) and a 12-29 cassette will get you up the hills. Some Campangnolo Neutron wheels would look great too.
