Short reach aero handlebar recommendations
Moderator: robbosmans
Hi All,
Following a bike fit, I've been advised that I need to shorten my reach significantly. This will mean dropping stem size and also could be worth reducing the reach of my handlebars which is currently up at 85mm.
Does anybody have any recommendations for short reach - around 75mm - aero shape handlebars? Aero tops are more about comfort on the tops than flat out aero by the way.
I notice Canyon do any unbranded aero cockpit that appears to be swept back for reduced reach, is this a good option? (obviously after I ensure the fit is right)
Cheers

Zipp SL70 ergo, Pro Plt Compact ergo and Ritchey WCS streem are worth a look along with some of the Deda options.

I second this, have been using it for 6 months and loving it!
As above I love mine, easy to route the cables and very comfy. I tried the deda superzero carbon bars before and the difference in quality between them and the zipps where night and daysnowdevlin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 12:24 pmI second this, have been using it for 6 months and loving it!
I currently run Zipp SL70 on two bikes. I love them to the point where I'm not sure I can ride anything else that isn't 70mm reach.
One day I'll get these bars from Chapter 2 for a dream build. https://us.chapter2bikes.com/mana-handlebar.html/

I'll check out the Zipps, I had completely assumed the Zipps would be quite long in the reach.
Has anybody got any experience with the Canyon H31 https://media-cdn.canyon.com/dw/image/v ... m=jpg&q=80?

It's an 80mm reach bar, I need 70-75.
Unfortunately, as it's nice looking!

Yes, there is already a multi-page thread about the thread starters neck pain…
Missed that one. I'd buy the cheapest Alu Stems in 70, 80, 90, 100 and may be 110mm and try each of them on the same route (minimum 80km!). Just to verify your fit.
Then if you'd need the 80 or 70mm Stem with your current handlebars, get the Zipp SL-70 Aero's (just for the looks so you can pick the 80 or 90mm stem), if 90 or above suits you maybe keep the handlebar?

The shortest reach is AX-Lightness AX 4200, is 66 mm. I bought in Bike24.com, With 70 mm reach you have several options, Cinelli Neos is very good price, 218 euros. Zipp another option with 70 mm.
Mcfk and Lightweight is 75 and 77. With 75 there are a lot of options, Specialized too are 75.
