Just bought myself this beauty.

I want to create a fast bike out of it. Primarily used on the flat Dutch roads because of the weight.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

now that you've got the Softride, you're going to need a pair of Scott Drop-Ins handlebars, Spinaci bar extensions and a set of Spinergy Rev-X wheels

oh, don't forget the Mavic electronic group

Nice find!

Don’t forget the behind-the-saddle twin bottle holders

How does the rear brake work?

gosh, this one brings back a number of lost memories

how about that first version of "aero bar" that looked like a pair of bullhorns, but they were connected out front.
or that other set of drops that could be attacted in towards the stem
forgot what they were called

That brings many memories indeed.
What a bike!

I personally would go for a rear Zipp disc wheel.

A rear disc wheel is a must indeed. I started a search for one in 11 speed.

If you decide to keep the original fork but want to run a threadless stem and modern bars, I can share with you the threadless conversion headset I designed and installed on my 1984 Trek 660 for that purpose.

Scott Rake-Ins, I think? Or Scott Rakes.

The frame will be shipped next week. I think I found myself a Madfiber wheelset for this build!

Wooo madfiber... hear they went out of business a couple years back. So what to do if there’s replacement needs?
