On the rear end of a 30 ride. It was 81 degrees and I was climbing around a rock slide from earlier in the year. Once across, "POW"!

Upon inspection, there was a hole and four expansions(bubbles)spaced out around the tube. No thorns, glass or anything present in the tire.

Not surprised to hear that. Nothing but problems with them in our group of riders.

Hopefully you didn't crash from the blowout.

Wow. I thought they were supposed to be more resistant. Care to share the problems that your group had?

I was walking. I have plastic plugs in place of a strip and my friend said one had dislodged when he took the tire off.
Have no idea what caused the bubbles which seem to be permanent.

Were those regular or S-Tubo? Rim brake or disc brake?

I have wondered about using latex tubes with veloplugs (I know Tubolito are a little different to latex...)

My shop went through this rash of installing these for several customers that all brought them in within a 10 day period. There must have been a lot of talk online about them cause they were hot and the new thing to have. I would say that 8 out of 10 of them had leaking valve tubes from the get-go or deformed valve tubes within a couple of weeks due to pumping them up or checking pressure daily. The plastic valve tube with metal core is a super poor design.

I dont know why it gets all hyped up. It has nothing on a nice pair of latex.

Rim. Was the first question about tires?

No, the tubes: there are regular (43g) and S-Tubo versions (23g, disc only). I had no issues with my regulars until I punctured one and the patch did not help.

This exact same problem. We probably experienced the same failure rate at 12 out of 15 riders.

Thought about trying these, but most feedback on various forums are average to bad, and the price...

I've had mine for about 10 months.... No issues or punctures until the other day. Went flat overnight. Used a patch and all good.... Must be a lucky one :D

Using Revoloop.white. They are almost the same as Tubolitos instead normal black valve color. No issues.
