My blowout was a year ago and no more problems. I use lightweight cloth rim strips.

Anyone used it recently? I heard it is better to be used on DB wheels than rim brakes due to the heat generated.

You mean Tubolitos? I've been running these since 2018, not the best experience, but a lot of mistakes on my part too since I used to run mostly tubeless before. First gen patches (transparent) are very unreliable though, current thick black/orange patches hold much better. Had a bad steak of failures this year: snake bite from tram line edge at high speed; blade-like sharp piece of glass; car tire wire; sidewall torn by a pothole edge - not sure how other tubes would have been better in most of these situations.

Necropost... beware, but I couldn't help myself.

I've successfully run latex tubes and Veloplugs for >5yrs.

I'm just sure the Veloplugs are fully seated with no sharp edges sticking-up.

I have wondered about using latex tubes with veloplugs (I know Tubolito are a little different to latex...)

Did the tube melt from braking heat?

only expand 15cm in this section, the wall thickness is very thick. I don't know if this affects to reuse again??

Running tubes already for 8000km this year. Patched one. The new glue is actually camplast and can he bought separately. And I just use a tubo as patch material. The patched tubo already runs for more the 5000km and holds air for days.
Leaking valve ? The early ones had issues and I didn't experience them anymore. As it's a hard tpu to metal bond just use superglue or the camplast glue from the patchkit. No problem leaking anymore.
Btw I use the regular tubos in carbon rims in Spain +30
