I've been riding this 2016 Giant Defy (8.5k.g.) and am keen to change the frame to a TCR

Does anyone know the weight of the TCR Advanced Pro 2019 Disc frameset? Or have a 2019 TCR Disc and know the weight?
https://www.giant-bicycles.com/gb/tcr-a ... c-frameset

I've been told by Giant that the TCR Advanced Disc Pro frame and fork is 1550g, does that seem about right, i'm not sure if that includes the seat post, derailer hanger etc.

I can only share details on a 2019 TCR Advanced SL Disc (ISP) Medium in Neon. Weights 1.26kg with fork and hardware EXCEPT the ISP Topper.

I hope this helps.

Thank man, what hardware is included in that weight? Thur axels, headset etc?
How much comfort is there in your TCR, i keen for a more aggressive ride but would like a bit of compliance.

First you should remove the spacers and do a few hard rides, see what you are getting into. The tcr front is 2cm lower, maybe even more in the largest sizes.

Sorry I should've said I slammed the stem on the Defy during a bike fit around 6 months ago. It took a few rides to get used to it but it's second nature now.

Slammed it bad one spacer last year and it’s still a comfortable ride but it feels spongey when you want to hammer it

Doesn't include thru axels and ISP topper, but includes everything else. You can improve the ride by using 28mm tires, but check your front wheel clearance, as it can get real tight depending on the tire + rim combo.

:D Slammed it bar one 10mm spacer and a 20mm headset top cap. To achieve the same bar height on a TCR you'd end up with about 50mm of spacers.

Ah I'm pretty niave with stem slamming! Can i remove the headset top cap the slam further or would I need smaller top cap to replace it?
Also thanks point re 50mm spacers for the TCR bar height, maybe the change is bigger than I thought. I'll look to get a test ride...

How will the 28mm tyres improve the ride? It's already pretty comfortable.

Another left field option would be to leave the frame as it is.
Instead of the frame, for the same cash my LBS can fit Ultegra Di2 and a 4iiii left only powermeter...

the defy is a great bike. You don't need the TCR

Get -17 stem and slam it as reasonably close as you can to the TCR's aggressiveness. Heck, get long reach handlebars and longer stem if this isn't enough for you.

At 85psi it'll be even comfier. But it would probably depend on how good/bad your roads are in your neck of the world
