I’m looking for recommendations for a new post to replace an S14 vcls on a canyon ultimate evo. The VCLS is fine but I’m not needing the damping and a bit of weight reduction would be nice.

Need 27.2mm x 330-350mm with 10-15mm setback. Saddle is a berk with 7x9 rails.

75kg rider on good roads and looking for something reliable.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

I'm using Ritchey superlogic 1-bolt on my Ultimate CF SLX. Pretty light and comfortable. You will need new clamping parts for 7x9mm rail though

I have had a few The SB32 from FSA I had broke
& in the end to be honest the China Carbon type is fine

The only drawback is you need a saddle with a cutout as one bolt faces up
There may be a way around that but I use Flite saddles so no prob

Darimo set back post is pricy as hell, but it's one of the most aesthetically pleasing to look at. My darimo straight post has been great and I'm around your weight, no issues.

+1 for MCFK, but the latest versions don't have setback. The older ones did.

Pricier but MFCK is plenty light and strong. I spent years on one with zero issues.

Thanks for all the tips.
MCFK seems to suggest the saddle can be set far back even though the post is straight, at least from their description?
Darimo looks a good bit lighter than the others for not much more money, so hopefully I can find a buyer for the canyon post :-)

What is great with bike ahead is the anti-slip surface. Forget that this seatpost moves. You can apply less torque and it still is seated.
If you want to make it lighter, you can change the top clamp for "yokes". It's M5 threads.
This saves you 20 grams. I run Ax Lightness yokes on my Bike ahead seatpost.
Finally, yes, it offers more seatback than MCFK.

Yeah, the Darimo post looks good.

Another option: WR Compositi WRC seatpost.

WR Compositi RS or WRC in 20mm setback are superb posts.
If you can find a NOS or mint PMP SB14 (14mm setback) that would also be great. (PMP no longer make these posts new, afaik.)
Both of those are very high quality, very durable, and beautiful.
No idea on how the weights compare to a S14 VCLS, but easy enough to figure out.

My Darimo in UD gloss came in at 80g

The WR WRC was over 130g in gloss 3K but much better quality

Thanks very much, just ordered a WR WRC and pair of their C16 skewers, should be a good saving - bontrager Serrano rl (240g) canyon VCLS (225g) and DT RWS qr skewers (100g) to be changed out.

Excellent choices. You will like the WR components I'm sure.
