Should have made this the new Ultimate with some cheaper builds and totally owned the market.

A 285 grams fork for disc brake sounds a bit too risky. The new cockpits seems to lack the internal cable routes yet still weighs more than Bontrager XXX. I however like it uses the standard 27.2 seatpost.

GP TT tyres, lol :D

I can see one place where to drop significant weight - ditch the AXS

My Canyon Ultimate CF SLX weighs in at 6.10 kg with Chorus 11, alloy stem/bars and Bora 35 clinchers.

You can go sub-5kg with this frameset and non-TT, everyday tubulars, or maybe even clinchers.

Don't see anything new with this Ultimate EVO compared to the "previous" ?
New groupset hardly justify calling it a new bike.
Do they possibly mean that it's available with disc brake?
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2018.12.21)

Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

The evo wasn't available in disc frameset , only rim brakes

They are really trying to make as much money as possible with this iteration

*f##k* time for an updated ultimate and aeroad

How about a part-by-part breakdown? :beerchug:

Frame 782g (incl. hangers) + bearings @ 37g
Fork 324g (incl. nut)
Bars 263g
Stem 112g
Post 152g (incl. clamp = 42g)
Saddle 210g
Right shifter 174g
Left shifter 177g
Front brake 165g
Rear brake 155g
Left Crank 262g
Right Crank 424g
Front Der. 76g
Rear Der. 186g
Chain 237g
Cassette 279g
Bora Ultra 35 Front 599g
Bora Ultra 35 Rear 781g
Tyres 432g (216g x 2)
Tubes 156g

= 5983g

Add the remainder for bar tape, cables, cages, etc. (didn't weigh those)

Major parts list: Canyon Ultimate CF SLX Rim in stealth black, size S. Campagnolo Chorus 2017. Ritchey WCS 4 axis aluminium stem. Canyon H17 aluminium bars, size 40. Ritchey WCS carbon 1-bolt post. Specialized Romin Evo Pro saddle. Bora Ultra 35 3d clinchers. MIchelin A1 aircomp tubes. GP4000S2 25mm tyres.

What I like about this bike is... everything. It's absolutely sublime to ride. It's light (duh) while being no slouch in the aero department, and all parts (including the frame build quality) are sensible... nothing specifically "weenie" about the bits I've chosen.

I'll do a build thread at some point soon and you'll get alllll the pics you like :)

Clearance and aero wouldn't change - I don't think they have a separate mould for the EVO frameset, it should be just the same frame with a different layup.

Also skewers! And if you put the usual Garmin stuff plus pedals it could easily total up to 6.8 - which of course is nothing to sneeze at.
