I've always wanted to see 750c wheelsets and frames designed around them. I do the same as someone above, small frame, 130mm or 140 mm stem. ST has to be over 560 or it loooks ridiculous. When Spec changed the Tarmac to be more sloping, my size became impossible, no seatpost long enough lol. Not likely though to see another wheel size I guess, tall guys get no sympathy haha. Worst looking one ever was Bill Walton's made by Zinn I think. Like a clown bike. Also, look at the gazillion wheel shapes and sizes in MTB, go figure. Someone made a brilliant April fools post about 750c launching once but nope.

Bill Walton and others have turned to Dirty Sixer for bikes built with 36in unicycle wheels. It’s just such a small market that appropriate tires and higher end hoops will never be a thing.

H1 Treks and the Argon 18 Gallium Pro are the extremes. In "medium" or 54cm frames, the H1 Emonda SLR has 526mm stack and the Gallium Pro has a 520mm stack. Just about everything else is in the 540-555mm range for that size.

I had to go back to my replay of the stage to look at Toms's stem situation. Looks like his bearing cover + one spacer amounts to about 2cm of stack. He's 180cm/5'11" and rides a 56cm...it all seems pretty standard.
My size 51 felt f series has a ht length of 110mm, and a stack of 514mm.

But it doesn’t have a 390mm reach like the frames I mentioned.

For comparison, the XS Gallium Pro comes in at 492/382mm and the 50cm Emonda H1 comes in at 506/383mm. The Felt is reasonably low for its size, but the two bikes I mentioned are still outliers throughout the size range.

As a tall guy who is also into mountain biking, it was awesome when that industry took to the 29er wheel size. Frames designed around 29 inch wheels are much better proportioned for us tall guys. Finally. But that developed because the normal size guys could see the benefits of better roll over. It had nothing to do with any desire to build for the tall guys.

And those who aren’t tall get ostracized for still wanting to ride 26” wheels because there is no need for 27” or 29” but industry choice is making it so. :(
