Lightweight 11sp cassette
Moderator: robbosmans
Held out for as long as I could... found a sweet deal on etap short cage and went for it.
I need a lightweight 11sp chain and cassette... preferably up to 32t. Need at least 30 if possible.
I’ll probably use a wolftooth or buy aftermarket legs so it’ll support 32t.
Thanks

Wooo.. didn’t know that’s possiblealcatraz wrote:Sram works very nice with both sram red and duraace cassettes. Possibly even better with duraace. You can try to to score a da9000 28t cassette cheap and later swap the three larger cogs from a da/ultegra 30/32t cassette and mix.

I was a bit too optimistic.
A shimano duraace 28t cassette has 19-21-23 and 25-28 in two blocks.
On a duraace cassette those cogs are titanium. On ultegra they are steel.
The smaller duraace cogs are steel and should weigh similar to ultegra.
On a da9100 11-30t cassette the big cogs are 19-21-24 and 27-30.
An 11-32t sram red is 195gr but expensive as hell. Duraace 28/30t are 195-205gr

Just go with the Sram 11-32, mine weighed 193.9g, all one piece so no damage to the free hub matched with either KMC SL or PYC 1101 chain. Both within a few grams of each other around 218g.

I'd try the ztto. Looks pretty good with durable steel on the small cogs.
Maybe if you're a heavy low cadence rider stick with sram full steel, if your're a lighter/spinner then ztto should work great.
I like that they have 11sp lightweight options up to 36t. Noone else makes a light 11s 36t cassette.

Yeah, fully understand that.addictR1 wrote:Thanks.. that’s what I’m thinking too... just wallet is hurting so bad already.......KCookie wrote:Just go with the Sram 11-32, mine weighed 193.9g, all one piece so no damage to the free hub matched with either KMC SL or PYC 1101 chain. Miche is heavy, but shifts fine and offeres different tooth counts. If you want light steel, Sram is prob the only option and it is pricey. Some people say it shifts fine, others say it doesn't...
