My mechanic sez one of the limit screws are stuck. Anyone have this problem before? How was it remedied?

I'd take my time as it's a delicate part.

I'd probably leave it overnight soaked in some wd40 or other penetrating fluid. Like soak a paper towel or cloth and place it over/around the bolt and then put in a plastic bag so that it doesn't easily vaporize.

Then the next day I'd heat it up to around 60-70C and take another crack at it with my highest quality allen key.

Ideally the bolt is steel/titanium and the arm it's threaded into is alloy. The heat would expand the arm a bit more than the bolt. To confirm use a magnet and see what is made of steel (attracts it). If the bolt is threaded into steel then heat will not do much.

I'd take my time and listen to some experts. I'm just an amateur.

If the bolt head is damaged you could have some luck by using an appropriately sized torx bit in it. I'd stay away from screwdrivers and stick with stable tools like small quarter inch socket wrenches that I know I can hold straight.
