Could anyone perhaps share their experiences with succesfully removing the glued-in type steerer expander, without of course damaging the fork's carbon steerer tube?
I am thinking of switching to Giant's Aircap system on my Propel (which has a 1 1/4 inch steerer width, which seriously limits expander bung choices) to shave some weight off, but I am worried that any futher alterations (e.g. cutting the steerer down at some point in the future) will become impossible, if the installation process is indeed irreversible as Giant's instructions indicate.
That said, someone did mention in this previous thread (viewtopic.php?t=147074) that the Aircap can be removed, but I would still be keen on seeking out further evidence or experiences for this.
