hi everyone,

i am looking to build a light bike for my sister. she needs 36cm c-to-c handlebars.... the only lightweight option i am aware of are the S-Works carbon bars. are there any other options? ideally under 200 grams.

thanks!

c-c at the hoods is 36cm for the FSA SL-K compact handlebars.

Should be 180 grams or so.

My wife is in the same boat.

Although replaced by Superergo, 3T Ergonova/Ernova 380mm was actually around 360mm. The LTD one was sub-160 grams.

thanks for the suggestions! the 3t LTD bar at 160 grams would be pretty great...

That's not correct. They have changed the measurement method on their website. Now they measure and mark hoods c-c on new superergo instead of drops c-c on old ergonova, resulting in 380 is actually 380 c-c on hoods while 400 c-c on drops for superergo. I've also confirmed this from a local retailer.

Besides, s-works shallow 36cm is actually 34.5 c-c on hoods, around 170g, while 38cm is actually 36.5 around 180g

I was explicitly talking Ergonova/Ernova. 3T was selling Ergonova/Ernova with the width measured between drops, and that's why they were narrower at hoods. Superergo is a successor and as you say uses a different measurements.

Ergonova 380: 360 (hood) 380 (drop)
Superergo 380: 380 (hood) 400 (drop).

I do own Ergnova 380 and it's certainly around 360 between hoods.

+1 on the Ergonova measurements. My 38cm Ergonova are 36.5cm C-C at the hoods and 38cm at the drops.
The Ergonova Team I have now are right at 200g and the 38cm Ergonova LTD I had before were right at 180g.

The only Ergonova I have seen that we’re close to 160g were sanded down to carbon, but I’m sure there is some variation between batches.
